We here at Este got some very good advice from a veteran Saint Bernard breeder. He said
read all you can, ask questions, watch old and new videos on the Saint Bernard breed, and
shows. It was great advice. That has helped us understand what a Saint should be, look like,
move like, act like, and what the Breed actually came about for back in the 1660's. In
addition to all of that we read, and re-read history on our breed, and study the standard.
The history helps us really understand the Saint Bernard breed.

We encourage checking Saint Bernard rescues for a pet. However,
 please, please, please do some researching on and about this
breed before purchasing, or adopting from anywhere, or anyone.
Owning any animal is a big responsibility. A Saint Bernard is
a "BIG" Responsibilty...A bigger dog, can mean bigger vets bills
if he or she become ill. Be prepared to spend anywhere from 24 to
35 dollars per 40 to 50 pound bag for  premium dog food. Pound
per pound they eat no more than any other dog. But can eat
about 3 of those bags a month per dog. Give or take a half a
bag.Yes, they slobber, and do alot of it. The back side window of
your car from the occasional Sunday drive, will be your proof of
